Many film analysis techniques are in general available. Those provided by the Stanford Center for Materials Research are described at the CMR facilities page. Commercial services also are widely available. A commonly used and well-respected provider of materials analysis is Charles Evans and Associates. They provide a nice summary of the measurement techniques and associated analyses they provide on the Charles Evans techniques and instrumentation page.
